BOWLING.

J AST WEEKEND GAMES. PAIRS TOURNAMENTS. On Good Friday a pt gressive paids tournament was 'held on the local greeii. Only 12 players rolled up, but a most enjoyable; <J'tw was spent. At the end of the day it was found that L. Gibb was the winning skip, going through without a loss. Of the leads, J. W. Brocket and W. Forrest botli had 3 wins and 1 loss, and on the aggregate Forrest was declared the, winner with 75 points to Brocket’s 49.

On Easter Monday a similar competition was held, and 16 player’s took part. Unfortunately, rain came on in the afternoon which l marred the pleasure of thq outing, but four rounds were finished, with tliei following results :—

Skips : T. H. Hale, 1 win, 3 losses ; Purdie, 4 and 0 ; F. 2 and 2 ; W. H. Taylor, 3 ;and 1 ; W. L. Gibb, 1 and 3 ; W. J. Towers, 1 and 3 ; J. Pinder. 2 and 2 ; ,W. Hamilton-, 2 and 2. Winner, W. Purdie.

Leads : J. H. Morland, 1 win, 3 losses ; C. Jessen, 1 and 3 ; J. Mclntyre. 3 and 1 ; J. Brocket, 1 and 3 ; O. G. Thornton, 4 and 6 1 ; Ashcroft, 2 and 2; W. Forrest, 2 and 2 ; R. W. Lowry, 2 and 2- Winner, O. G. Thornton.
