RIFLE SHOOTING.
PROGRESS. OF PAEROA CLUB.
TERRITORIALS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN.
The Paeroa Defence Rifle Club is making steady progress, and considerable interest is being taken in the movement. The numbers- that attend tlie Saturday afternoon practices are increasing, and members are becoming more completely equipped, and it Should/not be long before the c*lub will be represented by a fairly strong team. Those who intend to take the sport up seriously should equip themselves suitably as soon as possible", so as to be in readiness for the series of titfiphy shoots which the club intends to commence at an early date. The club is still looking out for new members, and to clear up any misunderstanding that may exist regarding the eligibility of territorials or cadets who wish to join it is pointed out that any territorial or cadet may become an member of a Defence Rifle Club and enjoy the same privileges as an ordinary member, such as competing for club trophies, or shooting in club teams, etc., but he is not eligible to take office on the management committee. Practically every club in the Dominion has territorials and cadets on its strength. To-morrow afternoon the club will fire a practice match on the local range, the competition being 10' shots each at 200yds and 300yds ranges.
