It was decided to secure an estimate for lowering the Gumtown Road flood-gate 18 inches. PUBLIC WORKS DRAINS. Strong exception was l , taken to the straight batters and wide bottoms of the drain along Pekapeka Road made by the Public Works Department in connection with the stop-banking of the Waihou River, particularly as, in view of the maintenance falling on the board, it had been agreed at a conference that one to one batters and narrow bottoms were necessary in such country.
