HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last we had a small entry of fat cattle which sold well up to last week’s rates. There was a short market of fat sheep, and all classes, sold freely at advanced .values. The full advert sect number of 3000 breeding ewes, and lambs came forward, and although competition for ewes lacked the briskness of previous sales practically all lots submitted changed hands at prices equal to other recent markets. Lambs, were in demand and sold at slightly firmer Tates. A fair number of fat pigs were yarded and prices showed a further advance; only, a small entry of stores sold at late values. We quote:

Beef. — Good quality light fat steers £8 17s 6d, good quality extra prime heavy cows sold to £lO 2s 6d, prime heavy £9, medium weight prime cows £7 2s 6d to £B, I’ghter £5 15s to £6 17s Gd, plain heavy c°ws £4 13s to £5 7s Gd,’ unfinished £3 to £4 7s 6d, fresh-conditioned cows £3 10s to £3 12s, store cows £2 to £2 10s, cull cows £1 to £1 10s, 18 months Jersey and cross in-calf heifers £3 12s 6d, weaner Jersey an'd cross heifers £2, heavy bulls,, potters, £5 to £6, medium dairy cows at profit £5 to £7 15s.

Sheep.—Prime heavy 2-to°tlis in wool 335, fat wethers 26s 9d, good quality prime heavy ewes 23s Bd, prime woolly, lambs 28s, medium-, weights in wool 225; 4-tooth Store wethers 225; best lines of 4 and' 5year ewes 245; big framed sound mouth ewes 19s to £l, others 14s 6d to 15s ; full to failing mouth ew'es 13s to 13s Gd, low-condition'ed ewes with fair mouths 10s 3d to Ils 3d, cull ewes 6s to 7s 3d; fair 2-tooth ewes 25s 9d, small 18s, 6d ; good well-gftwn •mixed sex lamb§ 16s Id, fair 13s 9d; medium lambs lis to Ils 6d, small 8s 6s to 9s ; one shear Soutodown ram lOgns, Romney rams 2%'gns.
