HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—
At the weekly stock market in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last we had a short entry of beef, and. prices were firmer. A fair number of'fat sheep was penned anid barely reached the values of the previous week, while a few pens of breeding ewes were submitted and sold under good ■competition. A full yarding of fat and store pigs came forward, fats improving on late rates by 3s to 4s per head, while stores and weaner& were hard, to quit. We quote :—
Beef: L'ght fat steers, 2-yearolds, £7 15s to £7 19s ; prime heavy cows and heifers £8 ,14s to £lO, prime £8 to £8 10s ; medium fat cows and heifers £7 2s 6d to £7 15s, light £5 to £6 ; fresh-conditioned cows £4 to £4 16is. Sheep: Medium fat wethers 22s to 22s 3d, lighter 20 ! 5,.3d to 20s 9d; prime fat ewes ,18s 6d to 18s 9d, medium 13s 9d to l'ss; prime woollly lambs to 24s IQd, medium weights £1 to 21s 6d; 4 and 5-year breeding ewes 20s 8d ; good S.M. ewes 18s to 20s ; low-condi-tioned S.M; ewes 12s 6d to 12s 9d; medium store lambs 9s 9d to 10s 3d, culls 6s to 6s 6d. Pigs: Heavy baconers £2 15s to £3 Is, light £2 5s to £2 10s ; heavy porkers £2 2s to £2 ss, light 30s to 36s ; slips 10s to 14s; best weaners, 7s to 9s, others 2s 6d to ss. WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports : — Beef. —There has been no change in the market. Prices are firm, with sufficient offering to satisfy the demand and with prices likely to improve during the autumn. Exporters are still operating on ox beef at close on. to. 30s per 1001 b. Bes,t cow and heifer is making 2’4s to 255. Fat’ Sheep.—Prices are a little easier for both wether and ewe mutton, with exporters still operating freely for lamb. Store Sheep.—We have heild fairs at Kauroa, Waingaro, Coromandel, Qparau, Tapu, and Tirau and competition has been keen for all classes, practically the who'le of the yardings having changed hands at satisfactory prices.
Store Cattle.—Very small yardings have been coming forward, with a good ‘ demand for grown and young steers. There IS, also a good inquiry for choice Jersey heifer weaners and good young store cows. Pigs.—Heavy yardings continue to, come forward for both fats and stores. Prices' are silightly better for fats, with all classes of stores low especially weaner'a.
Horses.—The market for all. classes Is very quiet.
