LAST SATURDAY’S GAMES.
PAEROA A. DEFEATS WAITOA
The Piako Cricket Association’s, competition was advanced a further stage on Saturday .last, when the Paeroa A team defeated the Wa’.toa eleven by 29 runs at the local domain.
Paeroa won the toss anld. Flower sent his side in to bat. Taylor and Stack opened the innings to the bowling of Moore. These two were going strongly when Taylor was given lbw. after scoring 13 runs, the first wicket falling for 53. ' Salo then partnered Stack, but was caught at m:d-on by Squter for 11. The second wicket fell for 72. Dare (16) and Meachem (11) were the only other players to reacts double figures. For Waitoa Moore played a good, not-out innings for 38, and he an(l Cooper (14) were the chief contribute ors to the. visitors’ 96 runs. [. Following are the details : — j PAEROA A. W. H. Owing to the fact that Morrinsville has practically won the competition and Paeroa, A will be runners-up, the match scheduled to be played between Paeroa B and Waitoa, at Waitoa, has been cancelled by mutual arrangement.
Morrinsyille is to play Te Aroha B at Te Aroha and should gain an 6asy victory. ,
