The postal revenue for the quarter ended December 31, 1927, amounted to £365,4'83. The telegraphic revenue for the same period Was £518,333. The totals for the corresponding period last year were £392,941 and £499,288 respectively. The main highway between Paeroa and Waihi is in a very rough condition at present- Apart from pot-holes, a lot of loose metal abounds in places and plays ihavoc with motor-car tyres. Ln some places) the road has been ijewly metalled, but with the dry weather and volume of fast-moving motor traffic the metal does not hold to the road and the greater part of it seems to be scattered on to the sides by the traffic.
