THAMES VALLEY ASSOCIATION.
TOURNAMENT GAMES.
The final, games in the tennis tournament held undpr the of, the Thames Valley Tennis Association on Saturday and Monday last have been, advanced a further stage. The semi-final games in tha champion singles were played between A. A. Ruston and W. J. Simpspn on the Paeroa courts on Friday afternoon. Ruston beat Simpson comfortably, the scores being 6—l, 6 —o.' He than defeated H. R. Thorp, 6—l, 6—o. On Saturday Ruston, Who is at the height of his form and playing great tennis, travelled to Te Aroha,' where he played his match against F. Bush. Once again Ruston played almost faultlessly and gained an easy victory, the scopes being 6—l, 6—l. Ruston is now matched tpi play Dr. A. S. Gray in the final game on March 3. Arrangements have bean made for Ruston (owe, I's) to visit Thames on the 18th inst to meet C. P. Garland (owe 15) in the fln'al game Tor the handicap singles.
In the handicap doubles McMillan and Steedman (owe 10) have yet to play Bluck and Ruston (owe 10) to decide the winners. This match will pr°bably be played one afternoon this week.
