Last week a team representing the Paeroa District High School" played a match against a boys’ combined team and secured a comfortable win. In the first innings the school team made 51 runs), smith, with 21, being the chief contributor. Un) the second' innings School made 120, Hardman (42) . and Smith (21) being the top scorers. In the combined team’s first innings -34 runs were compiled, White (1 O') and P. Barclay (9)' being the chief scorers. ) In all departments thei play of both sides was; good. PLAINS COMPETITION. LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES. The fifth series of matches in the i; second round of the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association’s inter-club competition was played on Saturday. Kopuarahi (125) drew with, Waitakaruru (66 for eight wickets), Turua (87) beat Ngatea (81), and Kaihere (141 for one .wicket) secured a - three-point win from Pipiroa (17 and 50). The TUrua club is, now assured of winning the competition. The 'outstanding batsmen of the various teams on the day were: KoR. Connors (42), T. O’Carroll (19), Rus. Green (17), H. Candy (17)* and E.
