VALEDICTORY.
LIEUT.-COLONEL ANDREWS.
GIFT FROM CLUB MEMBERS,
On Wednesday evening the members of the Ohinemuri Club held a guest evening at the club rooms, and the opportunity was taken to formally farewell Lieut.-Colonel C. E. Andrews, 0.8. E., N.Z.S.C., who has been transferred to Auckland after spending nearly six years at Paeroa, where he has been staff pfficer-in-charge of the No. 2 regimental district. There was a large attendance of members and friends.
During the' evening the president, Mr A. F. Steedman, referred to the loss the members would sustain when their guest' took his. departure. A tribute was also paid to the work he had done for the club generally, and particularly as a member of the committee. As a slight token of appreciation, and in order ' tpf mark the esteem in which he washeld, Lieut.Colonel Andrews; was alsked to accept a. gift from the members, which would also serve, to remind him of his club-mates at Paeroa.
The recipient suitably responded.
