At last night’s, meeting of tlia Paeroa Borough Council the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) referred to the acc’dent that had befallen Cr.. W. Turner, necessitating him becoming an inmate of Thames Hospital. The Mayor said that the accident was particularly unfortunate tpi a man who had reached Cr. Turner’s age. It was resolved to forward a letter of sympathy to Cr. Turner and express the hope that he would soon be up and about in the community again.

Referring to the revision of bylaws at last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council, Cr. F. E. Flatt said that the work Was important, and he thought a special meeting should be held to go into the" matter, so that the by-laws would be ready by April next. The necessity to frame by-laws governing, tlie swimming baths was pointed put by Cr. Silcock. The Mayor agreed, and said that he ■had nearly a page of foolscape of matters to consider.
