SUPPORT YOUR OWN TOWN.
Sir, —There appeared in the Hauraki Plains Gazette dated January 13 a letter re the above title, and signed “Friday.” Permit me to inform “Friday” that his letter, which was a dirty, personal attack on the secretary of. the Paeroa Athletic Club—incidentally a son of a local tradesman, which “Friday” gallantly added —was most unjust and uncalled 1 fW, and I may state his letter has presented rather an amusing attitude for various reasons.. Firstly, “Friday” claims to have, had over 30 years’ experience in the printing-profession, which I not venture to deny ; but I must say that a man of such a wide; experience should have cultivated more tact and refrained from firey remarks. Secondly, if. “Friday” had just paused for a moment to consider, he should have realised that his attack on the secretary was but of order. Surely “Friday” must know that all secretaries of organised bodies are, guided by their committees, and therefore an attack oh the committee was the correct procedure. Thirdly, the Paeroa Athlet'c Club to my knowledge has not set a precedent in regard to getting printing done, outside its own town. What is the reason, “Friday In: conclusion I would say, had “Friday” interviewed the secretary or chairman before exposing his wrath 1 am sure all this, unpleasantness would never have occurred. However, you have fired your shot, perhaps to vour sorrow. CHAIRMAN P.A.C.
