HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report At our first weekly stock sale of the New Year in the Frankton yards, on Tuesday last, we had a fair yarding of fat cattle, store and fat sheep, and pigs. There was little change in beef prices to those reported previously ; fat sheep were easier, and the store sheep, which, were comprised ch’efly of lambs, barely reached the values that were expected. However, all changed hands at satisfactory prices.

There were no heavy pigs penned, chiefly light and unfinished sorts, and the market was again easier. On account of the dry weather, and milk supply easing, vendors were anxious to quit.

Beef: Light to medium fat steers £lO 5s to £ll ; heavy fat cows £7 5s to £7 10s, medium prime £6 17s-6d to £7, lighter prime £6 to £6 12s 6d ; light prime young cows and heifers £5 15s to £6 ; plain heavy cows. £5 to £5 10s, rough £3 to £4 ; fresh-condi-tioned cows £4 to £4 ss, good stores £3 5s to £3 10s.

Sheep : Medium fat wethers 23s 10d to 245; good quality prime mixed 2tooths 24s Id ; prime quality ewes. 19s 6d to £1 ; plain heavy ewes 15s to 17s 6d, others 14s to 15s 6d ; medium fat lainbs'n ; forward-conditioned wellgrown 2-tooth wethers 20s to 22s 9d ; good Romney 2-tootli . ewes to 28s ; good early shorn Romney rape 15s 6d to l'ss 8d ; good W.F. store lambs 14s, to 14s 3d ; medium W.F. shorn lambs 12s 6d to 13s 3d, small, 9s Id to 957 6d.
