BUILDING AT PAEROA.
STEADY PROGRESS DURING YEAR.
DECREASE IN VALUE OF PERMITS'-
Although the value of! the building permits issued by the Paeroa Borough Council, for the year ended December 31, 1927, was not so great as in 1926, steady‘progress has been shown and many fine buildings have been erected. The total value for 1927 was £15,970 14s, which is £64,051 toss than in 1926, when a record for building in the borough was established. The incre.ase in 1926 was to a large extent accounted for by the permit issued for. the Aurora Theatre buildings, which .were hot completed until well on in 1927. Actually, last year was the second largest year for building in the history of the; borough. The following figures for 1927 indicate the steady ejection of buildings : The value of permits issued in January was £712; February, £3645; March,. £903 ; April, £1470; May, £184.5;’ June, £327' 10s; July, £95; August, £2810; September, £2303 4s; October-November, £l2lO ; December, £650. Total, £15,970 14s.
During last year several buildings on the main street for which permits were granted in 1926 were completed. '
