THE MATCH AT WAITOA.

PAEROA A TEAM DEFEATED.

Ip continuation of thi Piako Cricket Association’s ccmpetit’on the Paeroa A eleven journeyed to Waitoa on Saturday afternoon, when it was defeated by the; home side. Owing to several players being absent from Paeroa on holiday the vacancies had to be filled with substitutes, including three schoolboys, one of whom, Mayo, stood up to the men in a creditable manner and compiled the useful score of nine runs. Owing to the time, it was not possible to complete the second innings, and the home tqain gained a victory on the first innings by 46 runs.

Waitoa hatted first, Perry, (39), Moore (27), and Bell (26) being the principal scorers. For Paeroa Stack played sterling cricket for 33 not out, while Flower (16) and Shand (11) were the only other players to reach double figures. Following are the details — WAITOA.
