WATER FOR SALE.
POSITION IN HAMILTON. BATHING RESTRICTED. Probably for the first time in the history of Hamilton wiatex- is being rctaile d in the shops at Id a glass. This is pure spring water, and the contingency has arisen owijig to the heavy discolouration of the town supply, due to its impregnation with pumice, .resultant upon the Arapuni operations. 1 So dense has the water become during the past two days, that the people are even escewing baths, which is somewhat calamitous this weather, and as the rivex 1 is too dirty to dip in there is a general ruslx to the Lake; which is getting low and well churned up. , The' position is aggravated by the long spell of dry weather, which has caused the reserve) supply in many tanks to run low, and pure water is at a distinct premium.
People fortunate) enough to, possess a supply’of spring water on thenproperties, are being well courted, and it is. quite a common sight to see residepts carrying water firom place to place in vessels of various descriptions.
