LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES. MORRINSVILLE V. PAEROA B. The Piako Association’s competition was continued in ideal weather on Saturday afternoon, the third games in the third round being played The attraction locally \Vas the match between Morrinsville. and Paeroa B, in which the visitors secured a t'hree-point win. Owing to the holidays and other causes the home side was weakened considerably, and four of the .regular players were ;absent. While these defections probably would not have greatly affected the result of the match, had the home team fielded its usual players the, margin of defeat ho doubt would not have been so great.

Paeroa won the toss and Rolton sent the visitors in to bat, the innings producing 155 runs. The top scbrers were McPherson (33), Trembath (28), arid Banks (25). McQuillan and Pivott opened the account for Paeroa, but were quickly disposed of, .as also was Fox. The firs' three wickets fell for three runs, and then Lawrence stopped the rot an.l topped the score .with 16 before being run out. The innings, c’osed for 30 runs.

In order to try and save a three;poirit .victory Paeroa followed on for a. second innings, but failed to reach the visitors’ single innings score and were defeated by an innings and 35 runs. Paerqa’s second innings produced 90, Knight 32, Lawrence 17, and Rolton 13 being the principal contributors. Following the details MORRINSVILLE. A. J. Aitken, b Ball 3 F.
