AURORA THEATRE PICTURES, TO-NIGHT. HOUND OF THE DEEP. “Hound of the Deep,” which is to be screened to-night, is a realistic portrayal of life on a pearling station at Thursday island, as seen, written, and directed by Captain Frank Hurley, the adventurer of the tropics. Unaware that he. has formed an unknown enemy, young John Strong, complying with the wishes of his dead uncle, arrives at Thursday Island to claim his uncle’s vast weath when .he has found a pearl to match the famous Strong Imperial. SATURDAY NIGHT. LOVE’S BLINDNESS. How a marriage, between aristocrat and commoner might turn into a beautiful and colourful romance is interestingly told by “Love’s Blifid.'fcss,” from Elinor Glyn’s novel, to be screened to-morrow night. FRAMED. In the fe,ver-haunted swamps of the Brazilian penal colony along the Amazon quinine is the greatest boon. Nothing can take its place, and no dope victim ever craved a drug more than does thei man whose pulses, are beating in the mad tumult of swamp sickness. This fact is brought out forcibly in “Framed,” Milton Sills’ newest starring picture, wh’ch is also to be screened to-morrow night. MONDAY AND TUESDAY. SPECIAL ATTRACTION. THE SON OF A SHEIK. Starring in a lavishly produced sequel to the screen story which brought him his greatest fame, Rudolph Valentino comes to the Aurora Theatre on Monday and Tuesday. It is “The Son of the Sheik,” a. fiery, love-mad opus of the desert, with Vilma Banky, Montague Love Karl Dane, and other noted players supporting Valentino.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 1928. Beautiful, sunny Hawaii was brought very prominently' under the notice of the world by the great swimming performances, of Duke Kahanamoku and Kelahoa, but this lovely islando f the Southern Seas is; capableof producing other clever people, besides record-breakers of the water. Many of the very large number of people who have heard Ernest Kaai’sHawaiians have been delighted with the soft, melodious music produced by this talented company. Paeroa music lovers will be pelased to know that th 6 Hawaiians will appear for one night only—Saturday, January 7. They have, just completed very successful seasons at His Majesty’s. Theatre, Auckland, and at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, and after the New Zealand, tour will leave for London. New faces have, been added to the. company, and the management promises some pleasant surprises.
