When farmers of the Plains voted against advancing the clock at the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co.’s Ngatea butter factory they reckoned without the factory clock. This clock gains about three-quarters of, a minute daily, and as the factory staff supports Mr Sidey’s Act the clock has not beep altered in the past two months. Thus a little over half an hour has already been caught up. Despite this, the cream carts are getting in earlier than ever before, showing that farmers are working to summer time despite their protests. Were it not for the cream from Patetonga, which comes by .waggon to the depot, thence by Government truck to the landing and then by 'launch to Ngatea, the, factory could easily work ahead of sunn ■mer time The delay is between the depot and the wharf at Patetonga.
