SHOW AT PAEROA.
TO-MORROW’8 EXHIBITION.
INTERESTING DAY ASSURED.
Arrangements have been completed for the holding of the Hauraki A. and P. Association’s 29th annual show at the Paeroa Domain to-morrow.
This long-lookecl-for event promises to be bigger and more interesting than ever. This year the show is a one-day one, but there has been no falling-off in any department because of that. Rather, there is an increase in the number of entries in nearly every class, and to-morrow should prove one long day of interest and pleasure for townspeople as well as farmers. There are more side-shows than last year, while the industrial and trade exhibits also show an increase. Some of the stands will be exhibiting wireless receiving sots, and va.ious programmes :i f items will be broadcasted on the grounds. There are also several firms showing the most modern and labour-saving devices and farm implements.
Judging commences promptly at 9,30 a.m. and the first of, the numerous ring events will start at 10 o’clock sharp, and be continued steadily throughput the day. This year the show-ring has been remodelled and a double jump provided. This will do away with the hurdles in the centre of the ring, which means that spectators will obtain a better and uninterrupted view, of all events. Splendid entries have been received for the riding and jumping events, and many of the leading horses and show champions in the province will be competing. Extra accommodation has been provided for the cattle classes, and in til's department splendid entries have been received. The Grand Parade is timed for 1.45 p.m., and immediately following, the principal ring competitions will take place. Four troops of Boy Scouts have entered for the first-aid competitions,, which .will commence at 11 a,.rn. Post entries will be received either by the secretary or the steward in charge up to 1.30 p.m. for the monsster baby show, for which thi-ee classes have been provided, to be held on the croquet lawn. Classes have also been provided for school chidren’s decorated bicycles, and a weight-computing competition should also attract keen interest. Complete catering arrangements have been made, and there will be the usual ice cream and soft drink stalls while the many beautiful trees at the domain provide ideal places for those who desire to picnic.
The local shopkeepers have decided to declare a half-holiday to-morrow ino rder that their staffs may attend the big out-door function. The domain is looking its prettiest at present and is an ideal, area for the purpose of holding a show. There will be ample seating accommodation for spectators, and a fine day is all that is required to make the 1927 Hauraki Show a memorable one.
