WAIKATO MARKET REPORT.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: • Beef. —The; market is firm, and prices have improved since our last report. Exporters are still operating, best prime ox making equal to 30s per 1001 b.

Fat Sheep.—There is still a good demand, with prices holding up well for this time of the year, especially for ewe mutton. Exporters have not quoted any price for lamb yet. Store Sheep.—There Is a strong demand for all classes, especially 2 and 4-tooth wethers, good lines of this class bedng hard to obtain. Lines of ewes are also sought after. Several lines of breeding ewes for forward delivery have changed hands at satisfactory prices.

Store Cattle.— Competition is keen for grown and young steers ; also for good young store cows. Yearling Jersey and Jersey-cross heiflers are still meeting with good competition at high prices. Dairy Cattle.— Very few of this class are now offering.

Pigs.—He.avy yardings of both fat and stores continue to come forward, with prices still easier for fats. Competition is still good for all classes of stores.

Horses.—There is a demand for •meidium draughts, but. heavy horses and the light class are not wanted.

HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

At our weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last we ihad a fair entry of fat cattle, and there was a further advance in prices of from 15s to £1 per heiad. A short market in sheep also sold under firm competition at increased rates. A fiull yarding of fat and store pigs were penned. There was no improvement in the values of fats, while stores were slightly easier than the previous week’s. Beef: Medium-weight fat steers £ll 7s 6d to £l2 7s, lighter prime; £lO 10s to £ll 12s ; best prime fat. cows and heifers £8 15s to £9 12s 6d, medium £8 to £8 13s ; light cows and heifers £5 to £6 ss; boner s£3 10s to £4 ; vealers £2 4s to £2 17s.

Dairy Cattle: 15-months Jerseycross heifers £4' to £4 12s ; best dairy cows at profit £lO 10s to £l2 10s; medium cows and heifers £8 10s to £9> inferior and backward £2 to £5.

Sheep: Prime fat wethers 28s 9d, fair forward wethers 23s 6, fat lambs 23s Bd.

Pigs : Heavy baconers £2 13s to £2 16s, light baeoners £2 6s to £2 10s ; heavy porkers £2 7s to £2 Ils, lignt porkers £2 to £2 4s; slips 22s to 28s, weaners 14s to £l.
