Patching of bitumen roads in the. Turua Town Board’s area was commenced on Friday last on the authority given by the board at its meeting on Wednesday evening. The, matter of improving the water-tables was left to the works committee to have, undertaken on a. suitable ooccasion. Returns show that 1500 certificates of records gained by Jersey cows under a semi-official test give: their average production as '5551b of butterfat. The next highest breed, with 14 89 certificates, produced an average of 4711 b of butter-fat, the difference being 841 b in favour of the Jersey.
