PURSUANT to Sections of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” I hereby give notice that a Poll of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Paeroa was taken on the 20th day of October, 1927, on the proposal of the Paeroa Borough Council to borrow the sum of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4500) for the purpose of Improvements to Main Streets The number of votes recorded for the Proposal was 281. IN accordance with the provisions of Section 64 of the Rating Act, 1925, ratepayers within the district constituted under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, are hereby notified that a rebate of 5 per cent, (five per centum) on the current years rates will be granted provided all rates owing are paid within thirty days from the date of the demand. I OSWALD JAMES HAWKEN, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, do hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated pursuant to that Act a rate on a graduated scale as specified in the Schedule hereto according to the classification of the land.

The said rate will be payable in one sum on the 24th day of October, 1927, to the Collector of Rates for the Hauraki Plains Rating District, at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book will be open for inspection. A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Kerepeehi at all times at which that office is open for the transaction of public business. SCHEDULE. Class A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, Threepence and sixty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (3.67 d in the pound. Class B. —On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, Twopence and ten one-hun-dredths of a penny (2.1 d in the pound.
