CLOSING GAMES OF SEASON. >
LAST SATURDAY’S COMPETITIONS.
The Paejroa Golf Club officially closed its season on Saturday afternoon last, although it is probable that play will be continued until towards the end of this month. The men played a medal round, while the, ladies enjoyed a fourball best ball •match. During the afternoon tea adjournment the club captain (P. R. Hubbard) in formally declaring the season closed, said that although the Weather during the season had been at times unfavourable, he considered it had been a successful one. The •Ladies’ Club had been especially successful, and had completed a number of matches. It was the wish of the members that the season should not pass without complimenting Mrs Pringle on the able way in which she had managed the afternoon tea arrangements throughout th© season, and on behalf of the club he presented he,r with a gift in recognition of the services rendered. The following list of prize-winners was then announced, and th© captain stated that the trophies, would be presented at a social function to be held at a later date: — Ladies’ Club—. L. G. U. medals: May, Miss Walmsley ; June, Mrs F. C. Hubbard; July, Mrs R. L. Miller; August, Miss Gibb; September, Mrs Hubbard; October, Miss M. Thorp. Silver medal, Miss Walmsley; bronze medal, Mrs Hubbard ; Mrs Hubbard's trophy for bogey uiatch, Mrs Miller; Mrs Lawrence’s trophy for eclectic match, Mrs Miller; Mrs Little’si trophy for sealed-hole match, Miss Gibb; Mrs G. T. Smith’s trophy for firstyear players, Miss I. Masters; Miss M. Thorp’s trophy for foursomes, Mrs } Lawrence and Miss Walmsley; Mrs Miller's trophy for aggregate of two scores, Mrs Hubbard ; Mrs Porritt s trophies for four ball best ball match, Mesdames Miller and Simpson; Club’s trophy for flag match, Miss Tierney; Club Championship, Mrs, Miller, run-ner-up Mrs Lawrence ; Club Handicap, Mrg) Hubbard, runner-up Miss Tierney.
