JERSEY BREEDERS.
MEETING OF PAEROA CLUB.
PEDIGREE SALE ARRANGED.
A meeting of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club was held at Paeroa on Saturday, Mr B. E. Veale presiding over Messrs M. Crimmins, •J. Morrison, G. Buchanan, E. Hofmann, C. Townshend, and W- L- Lawrence (secretary). The chairman explained that the main object in holding the meeting was; for the purpose of considering the advisability of going on with a pedigree sale at Paeroa. After a discussion it xvas thought that there, would be about 35 jersey cattle offered for sale. In order to make the sale worth while it was resolved to accept entries for any breeds so long as the stock was pedigree. It was decided to ask the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency to hold and arrange for the' sale at the Paeroa yards on Thursday, October 20, and also to seek the- assistance of the company’s local representative in obtaining entries.
Owing to the short time available, it was resolved not to issue catalogues; but to have posters circulated giving the names of vendors and a brief description of the stock to be offered. Breeders desiring to have their stock entered on the poster will be required to forward their entries to the secretary not later than Saturday, October 8. The question of advertising the sale was left in the hands of Messrs Veale, Buchanan, and th© secretary.
