PEDIGREE CATTLE.

THE AYRSHIRE BREED.

A LOCAL IMPORTATION. Mr G. Thorne-George, of Tirohia, has just added to his dairy herd a valuable young pedigree Ayrshire bull from Invercargill, Allandale True Blood, No. 2-26, bred by Mr R. S. Weir. This young beast is a. true type of its breed, and has an excep tional butter-fat backing, being a son of Miss Gillies a. member of the Allandale herd. She was champion at Invercargill in 11)26, giving 5221 b of butter-fat in 185 days. This cow is held to be one of the best all-round cows of Invercargill. On the other side he has Ivanhoe Clear the Way, the famous Springbank herd sire, out of the grand old matron Ivanhoe Fancy, a N.Z. Champion Ayrshire with a production of 7141 b butter-fat as a jH-year-old. Her mother, Coles Fancy, has a record of 5141 b butterfat to her credit as a two-year-old. His sister. Allandale Trixie, was a Royal Show Champion in 1925, and produced 433 lb butter-fat in 207 days. Miss Gillies and Allandale Trixie secured Ist and 2nd in the Cow in Milk class at the last Invercargill show. Allandale True Blood has the breeding that cannot be beaten in the Dominion, and himself will take a power of beating. This young bull has been some four weeks: coming from Invercargill, and has stood the journey wonderfully well
