TO-NIGHT AND TO-MORROW NIGHT
THE SCARLET LETTER,
Lillian Gish will be seen in her greatest role, Hester Prynne, in “The Scarlet Letter,” Nathaniel Hawthorne s story of Puritan days, tonight and to-morrow night. Dealing with an age of narrow-minded, blind prejudice, it tells of a man and a woman who loved with a mighty, overpowering love. Hester Prynne was young and gay and in love with life. And when a great new love entered into her life and fate whirled her into a tangled web of tragic happenings she faced t,he scorn and bitterness of her neighbours with proud serenity because love is greater than intolerance.
