NEW ZEALAND MEAT.

ADVERTISING IN ENGLAND. MARKETING BOARD'S DISPLAY. The following interesting extract is taken from a letter received from the N.Z. Meat Producers’ Board’s London manager by thei last English mail:—

“Last week a World’s Advertising Convention w;as held in London and an exhibition was arranged under its auspices at Olympia for six days. This exhibition attracted a lot of public attention, and over 130,000 people paid for admission.

“The Empire Marketing Board had a very large, exhibit showing all the British produce and indicating to the manufacturers the improvements in packing and get-up of Empire produce generally. New Zealand had a,separate court in the Empire Marketing Board’s display, where: quite a good show was made of Zealand products.

“The Empire Marketing Board again arranged for cooking demonstrations, which were largely attended, and New Zealand meat was used in several of the demonstrations and the various methods of cooking it were explained by the demonstrators. “This exhibition was also used as an advertisement for Empirej Display Week, and. all the large stores made special displays of Empire goods'.

“I enclose a photograph of the hoardings of the Empire Marketing Board, showing you th© poster that was exhibiteid on over 600 hoardings throughout England jVhhn the Duke and Duchess returned, and this event wast used to link up the advertisements for Australian and New Zealand produce. You will notice that New Zealand mutton and lamb was specially mentioned in this advertisement,. which is seen by many millions throughout England. “I am in touch with the advertising section of the Empire Marketing Board, and I hope to have further posters on New Zealand meat during the next month or two.” The board has also been distributing pamphlets descriptive of the quality of New Zealand meat through the meat retailers all oveir the United Kingdom. By the last English mail it is gratifying to learn from the board’s London manager (Mr R. S. Forsiyth), that the total distribution of pamphlets to date is over 700', 000 copies, which means that we shall presently have a copy of our pamphlet into over three;-quarters of a million homes. Mr Forsyth mentions that he has received hundreds of letters of appreciation from retailers stating that this advertisement will help their trade.
