MONEY IN LAW. BUT NOT FOR LITIGANTS. COMPENSATION AND COSTS. In the case before the Hamilton Supreme Court on Tuesday last, in which a service car driver named Ernest W. Moisley sued Day’s Motor Services, Ltd., for £lOOO for damages for injuries sustained owing to defendant company’s car, which he drove, going over a bank, judgment was given for defendant company. Following a conference between the parties relative to the company’s liability under the Workers’ Compensation Act, Mr Webster, for plaintiff, applied for compensation to be assessed under the Act. His, Honour fixed the amount of compensation at £l4B 9s, less £23 13s already paid. Defendant’s costs in the action were assessed at £133 10s, less £8 4s allowed to plaintiff for recovering compensation. As defendant’s costs are to be deducted from the amount of compensation awarded, nothing is therefore l e ft for plaintiff. Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure. First aid for coughs, colds, influenza
