MATCH AGAINST KENT.

GOOD STAND BY HOME TEAM.

Commencing on Wednesday morning, the New Zealand Cricketers played a three- days’ match against Kent at Canterbury. The.home side-batted first and compiled the fine score of 405 runs. Cabled advice received this morning states that the New Zealander® made- only 293 runs in their first innings, and when stumps were drawnlast night Kent had replied with 217 runs for the loss of six wickets. The game is being continued to-day.

Commencing to-morrow morning, the New Zealanders are scheduled to play a three days’ match against Wales, in North Wales.
