HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report :— . At our weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last w& had a fair entry of fat cattle, fat sheep, and pigs. Store cattle and sheep were scarce, while a full number of store pigs were submitted. Prices realised in the beef pens were on a par with, those reached the previous week, extra choice cow and heifer beef, if anything, being slightly firmer. F a t sheep sold firm at further advanced values'. Fat and store pigs sold at late rates. The following are quoted:—
Beef: Medium-weight prime fat steers £l2 to £l2 15s, lighter prime £ll to £ll 15s ; extra choice quality prime young cows and heifers £9 to £9 10s, medium-weight £8 to £8 6s, lighter £7 7s to £7 15s-; small and light fat cows and heifers £5 15s to £6 ; store to forward cows £2 15s to £3 15s ; Jersey and Jersey-cross yearling heifers £3 to £3 18s. Sheep : A pen of extra heavj' prime fat wethers on account of Mr H. SHawkins, “Glencoe,” realised £2 7s 9d. Heavy wethers 38s 6d to 38s 9d, lighter prime 36s ; forward wethers 28s to 29s ; fat ewes 29s 3d to 30s ; forwardconditioned hoggets 23s- 9d ; full to failing mouth ewes in lamb 24s Id. Pigs : Baconers £2 19s to £3 ; good porkers £2 12s to £2 16s, medium £2 8s to £2 12s, light. £2 2s to £2 6s; slips 26s ; choppers £2 10s to £4 12s Gd ; sows due to farrow £4 to £5 10s, inferior 37si 6d to £2 10s.
