MATCH WITH CUMBERLAND.

HOME TEAM WELL BEATEN.

The New Zealand Cricketers concluded their two days’ match against Cumberland at Whitehaven on Monday afternoon. The visitors added further laurels to their record by defeating the home team by an innings and 18 runs.

In their first innings Cumberland’s total was 154 runs, and at the close of play on Saturday the New Zealanders had lost one wicket for 117 runs.

Continuing on Monday, the visitors carried their score to 302.

Cumberland batted again, but only produced 130 runs, thus leaving the New Zealanders victors, by a comfortable margin. Commencing this morning the New Zealand team plays a two days’match against Bedfordshire, at Bedford.
