EVERY person who keeps, harbours, or permits to remain on the premises, whether at large or in confinement, any unregistered dog is liable to a fine of /5. Dogs without collars, having proper registration label, are deemed unregistered ; and any person upon whose land such dog is found, or his agent, or any person duly authorised by a local authority may destroy any such dog. NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council held on the 30th day of July, 1927, the following Special Resolution was passed :— “That the width of the southern end of Towers Street adjacent to Section 11 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under Number 8263 be diminished to a uniform width of 100 links.” The above resolution will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held at the Borough Council Chambers on the eighth day of September, 1927. NOTICE' is hereby given that it is the intention of the above Council at its next"ordinary meeting on the Ist September, 1927, to make, under Sections 120 and 121 of “ The Counties’ Act, 1920,” and Section 41 of “ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909,” the undermentioned rates for the year begun on the Ist April, 1927, and ending on the 31st March, 1928, on the Capital value of all rateable property in the following Ridings :— In Paeroa Riding— A General Rate of Hd in the £. In Karangahake Riding — A General Rate of 2d in the £. . In Waitekauri Riding —A General Rate of 2d in the £. In Waikino Riding—A General Rate of 2d in the £. And a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of fths of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all Rateable property in the County of Ohinemuri. Each of the above rates to be payable in one sum on the 15th day of September, 1927, at the office of the Council in Paeroa. NOTICE is hereby given in terms of Section 51 of “ The Rating Act, 1925,” that it is the intention of the Elstow Drainage Board, at its meeting to be held in its office, Whitaker Street, Te Aroha, on Saturday, the 24th day of September, 1927, at 10 a.m., to make and levy under section' 31 of “The Land Drainage Act, 1908,” and sections 3 and 4 of “ The Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1913,” a general rate upon the unimproved value and upon a graduated scale according to classification of land within the Awaiti subdivision of the Elstow Drainage District as follows : — Upon lands clasified A, 3 5-16 d in the £; upon lands classified B, lid in the £; and upon lands classified C, l|d in the £. All the above rates shall be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1927, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1928, and be payable in one sum, to the Clerk to the Board, at his office, Whitaker Street, Te Aroha, on the 10th day of October, 1927. The rate books and rating rolls are now open for inspection of ratepayers at the office of the Board during office hours.
