ODDFELLOWS BALL.

EFFORT OF LODGE NETHERTON.

FUNCTION UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS.

The members of Loyal Netherton Lodge. M.U., 1.0j0.F., held their second annual ball at the Netherton Hall -on Thursday night last. The floor was packed, and in addition to a large number of local members, from Paeroa, Waikino, Waihi, and Thames were also present. The dance hall was beautifully decorated, tree ferns and nikaus being used effectively, while the supper-room was a blaze of glory, the decorative scheme being carried out with coloured paper streamers, flowers, and greenery. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr J. Johnson, who was particularly attentive to hls task. Although this lodge has been in existence only a little over two years, it has been sufficiently enterprising to form a very efficient orchestra, and the music dispensed on Thursday night w;js warmly commented upon by the dancers. Extras- were contributed by Miss I. Halligan.

The supper was controlled by thesisters of the Lodge and to them, as well as- all those persons who assisted, great credit is due. The function was an unqualified success, and tlie lodge’s ball next ye-ar is already being looked forward to with pleasurable anticipation.
