Some amusement wfls caused on Tuesday during the debate on “Immigration,” held at Hamilton under tihe auspices of the Workers’ Educational Association, when Mr Dwyer remarked that, if the worker was asked what he considered a fair day’s work he would reply, “One hour a day, and that hour would be the lunch one.” Later on the same speaker said that he regarded the Chinese as a brother ; the only objection he had to ihim wa?« as a brother-in-law.
