PAEROA STOCK SALE
GOOD YARDING YESTERDAY. There was a good yarding of stock at the monthly -saje of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co’s. Paeroa sale . yesterday. The yarding mostly comprised dairy stock, which met with a good demand. Tire auctioneer, who has- visited many sales both in the north and southern districts, said to our reporter-that the quality of the stock was on a par and the condition above the average for this time of the year. There wa.s a good attendance at the sale, and prices are quoted as follows :— Best dairy cows and heifers £lO to £ll 15s, others £8 10s to £9 15s ; backward heifers and good dry cows £6 to £7 5s ; beef cows £6 15s to £8 10s, others £5 to £6 10s; store cows £3 10s to £4 15s, rough and inferior £2 10s to £3 17s 6d ; empty lheifers £2 10s to £5 10's for a pen of high-grade Jerseys ; bulls £3 to £7 for young bulls fit for service. A few pens of young ,cattle, which met with ready competition, sold as follows : Yearling steers £1 15s to £2 Bs, and yearling heifers 17s 6d to £1 15s, according to quality.
