HOCKEY.
LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH.. TE AROHA BEATS PAEROA. The Paeroa ladies’ hockey team visited T’e Aroha on Saturday, but suffered defeat at the hands of the Te Arohq players. The ground was -in fairly good condition, and the weather was conducive to good hockey. Roth teams, each with its full complement of players, took the field at 3 o’clock. The game all through was very onesided. The Paeroa backs did nbt clear to good advantage, and with the Te Aroha team pressing them in their own twenty-five their defence was broken. At half-time- the score was four goals in Te Aroha’s favour, the scorers being Mrs Mills (3) and Miss Biggs. Te Aroha continued to attack in the second half, with the reisult that Miss Biggs and Mrs Wrack both notched goals, making the final scores Te Aroha 6, Paeroa 0. After the game the Paeroa players were entertained at afternoon tea ift the Wesley Hall.
