COMMERCIAL.
HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., reports .— At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last we had a small entry of fat cattle, sheep, and pigs, but a full yarding of dairy cows and heifers. Beef was firmei by 15s per head, while fat and store sheep sold under good competition at further advanced rates. All classes of pigs sold at late rates. There was a good demand for dairy cows and heifers well forward, but backward and inferior were dull of sale.
Beef.— Medium-weight prime cows and heifers £7 to £7 12s>, lighter £6 6s to £6 15s; young and light fat cows and heifers £5 to £5 15s ; best dairy cows and heifers', well forward, £9 to £lO 10s; good spring calvers £8 to £lO, backward and inferior £5 to £6, culls £3 to £3 10s.
Sheep.—Prime heavy fat wethers sold to 34s 6d ; medium fat wethers 28s 6d, small 25s' 9d to 26s 2d ; prime fat ewes 24s 4d; fair fat hoggets 19s 6d; store to forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers 24s Bd.
Pigs.—Heavy baconers £3 ,5s to £3 7& 6d; good porkers and medium baconers £2 12s to £2 18s ; light Porkers £2 2s to £2 6s ; Slips 28s to 33s ; weaners £1 to £1 ss, small 12s 6d to l'ss; sows in young £3 15s to £5; choppers £3 10s to £4.
