NGATEA STOCK SALE.

Probably on account of the weather there was a small yarding of stock at the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co’s monthly stock sale at Ngatea on Monday. No beef was yarded, but there was: a good demand for boners, and prices range! from £3 5s to £4 for good quality and from 30s upwards for poorer quality. There was a sma.ll yarding of dairy cows, and the best quality brought from £8 to £lO 10s, others from £l5 to £7 10s. and inferior from £4 10s.

PAEROA STOCK SALE.

Buyers were in attendance from Te Aroha, Waihi, Waikino. and Hauraki Plains at the stock sale held by the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. at Paeroa yesterday. There was a large yarding of dairy cows and heifers, and ‘he demand was keen at advanced prices. Dairy cows brought from £6 to £lO 10s. and heifers from £5 to £lO 15s. A nice line of 30 yearling Jer-sey-cross heifers sold under keen competition for £3. There was also . a fair yarding of fat and store cows quitted a.t full market prices.

HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports:— Beef.—There is a. tendency for the market to improve, more especially for prime ox and cow beef a good deal of plain and unfinished coming forward.. Exporters are still operating, but vendors prefer in most cases to hold for -a further rise. Fat Sheep.—The market is firm for all classes of fats. Prices are on the improve, with every prospect of a further rise. Store Sheep.—There is a good de mand for all classes of stores, ewes in lamb and hoggets being keenly sought after, with very few lines of the latter class offering. There is also a good inquiry for forward and store wethers. Store Cattle.—Small yardings have been coming forward, with good competition for young male cattle; also a fair demand for grown bullocks for turnips. There is a good inquiry for Jersey and Jersey-cross yearling heifers.

Dairy' Cattle. —Good dairy herds and choice springing heifers are meeting with keen competition, both in the yards and paddocks l . Clearing sales have been held throughout the Waikato and have been very satisfactory.

Pigs.—Baconers and porkers continue to meet with, good competition without any improvement in prices. Good yardings of stores and weanera coming on the market are meeting with good competition at high prices for to early in the season. Horses. —The market is dull for all classes.

Sheep : Wethers, prime shorn heavy 27s 6d to 30s, medium 24s to 25s 6d ; ewes, prime shorn 22s to 245; store wethers. 4-tooth 23s to 24s 6d, 2-tooth 21s to 22s 6d ; breeding ewes, 4,6, and 8tooth 27s 6d to 30s, 5-years 22s 6d to 255, aged 17s to 21s, 2-tooth 26s to 28s. 4-toooth and 6-tooth 28s to 31s; lambs, prime fat hoggets 23s to 24s 6d, fat hoggets 20s to 21s 6d, best woolly hoggets 17s to 19s, good woolly store hoggets 14s to 16s 6d, small 10s to 13s; best shorn hoggets 16s to 17s • 6d, good store shorn hoggets 14 s to 16s. small 10s to 13s. Pigsi: Baconers, primes £3 8s to £3 12s 6d, medium £3 to £3 3s; porkers £2 10s to £2 15s ; slips 27s to 32s 6d ; weaners 15s to 20s. Horses: heavy draughts £35 to £4O, medium £2B to £32 ; spring cart sorts £l6 to £lB, harness horses £8 to £lO, hacks £5 to £B.
