HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers’. Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports:—
At our weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday last we had a good yarding of beef and a fair entry of fat and store sheep and fat pigs. Prices were firmer for beef, mutton, and fat pigs ; store pigs sold at late rates.
Beef: Light to medium fat steers £8 4s to £8 15s, unfinished £7 15s to £7 16s ; young and light fat steers £5 13s to £6 8s; prime heavy fa,t cows £7 15s. to £7 17s, prime medium weights £6 15s to £7 ss, lighter prime £5 14s to £5 17s; plain cows £4 5s to £4 15s; good-framed fresh conditioned cows £3 19s to £4 15s ; good stores £3 to £3 7s 6d ; forward conditioned 4-year store steers £7 ss; cull cows 30s to 35s ; Jersey-cross heifer calves £2 to £2 4s ; small mixed calves 24s ; dairy cows £8 3s to £lo'. medium sorts £5 to £6 10s.
Sheep: Prime heavy fat wethers 30s to 31s 6d; small fat wethers 23s to 255; fat ewes. £1 to 20s 6d ; fat woolly hoggets 22s ; good framed fat and forward ewes 18s ; low-condition-ed S.M. ewes in lamb to Romney rams 18s 7d; cull ewes in lamb 12s. Pigs: Heavy baconers. £3 12s to £3 14s, medium. £3 4s to £3 7s; good porkers to light baconers £3 to £3' 3s ; medium porkers £2 12s to £2 15s, light £2 5s to £2 95,; choppers £3 4s ; slips 30s to 325; medium slips 24s to 27s ; weaners 8s to 15s.
