MINING.
M'AIHI GOLD MINING COMPANY. THE ANNUAL REPORT. In their annual report for the year ended December 31, 1926, the directors of the Waihi Gold Mining Company state that during the year 211,<530 tons (of 20001 b dry' weight) were treated. The gold and silver sold realised £356,797 ; sundry receipts, including interest, amounted to £16,4 67. The value of the power supplied in pursuance of the terms of purchase of the Horahora undertaking and included in the power, costs of the different departments, was £lO,625. These three items amounted to a total of £383,890. and compare with a total of £398,694 last year, a decrease of £14,803.
The expenditure in New Zealand and London, including development work at the mine, but excluding taxes of all kinds, amounted to £312,278, leaving a gross profit of £71,611. After appropriations the balance remaining to the credit of revenue was £43,381, to which is added £22,724 brought forward from last year, making a total of £66,105. After deducting the interim dividend of Is a share paid in November last. the balance remaining is £41,309. Out of this the directors recommended a. further dividend of Is a share, free of income tax, payable on May 25, and absorbing £24,795, leaving £16,574 to be carried forward.
