HOCKEY.
« PAEROA LADIES DEFEAT WAIIII. LAST SATURDAY’S MATCH. On Saturday afternoon the Paeroa ladies’ hockey team journeyed to Waihi, where a match was played against the Waihi ladies’ representative team. A fast anil hard game resulted in a win for Paeroa by three goals to two. • In the first half a smart goal was shot for Waihi by Miss Dabinett. The score put the visitors on their, mettle. and after tight play in the circle Miss V. Shand sent in a stinging shot. In the second spell Miss F. Weedon scored another goal for W ilii. The visitors again went on the attack, and before the call of time Miss A. Morland and Miss MHartley each shot a goal for Paeroa.
Messrs. L. Mahon (Paeroa) .and J. Hicks (Waihi) refereed, the match.
