YOUTH FOUND SHOT.
YOUNGER BROTHER ARRESTED. ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. OAMARU, May 29. A youth, Herbert Symons, was found at his home early last evening w:th a wound in the left shoulder caused by a pea-rifle bullet. He was removed to the hospital. A younger brother. Allan Symons, was arrested when about to board a slow train for Dunedin and placed in custody to appear on a charge of attempted murder. It is alleged that Herbert intervened when Allan was about to punish a boy for throwing clods of earth at him while working in the garden, and Allan ran away, saying, ‘l’ll get you for this.” As he was about to leave the sleeping hut Herbert was shot in the left shoulder. The bullet struck the bone and rebounded into his clothing.
