At the Matamata Magistrate’s Court last week two cases of, illegal sale of liquor were heard, one against a boardinghouse-keeper, of Matamata. Gustavus Gust, and the other against a billiardroom proprietor, William Smith, of Waharoa. In both cases liquor had been purchased with marked notes or money. The accused pleaded guilty.
