NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE GENERAL AND SPECIAL RATES IN THE BOROUGH OF PAEROA. NOTICE is hereby given that the Paeroa Borough Council will, at a meeting to be held in the Borough Council Chambers, Normanby Road, on the 9th day of June, 1927, at 7.30 p.m., make and levy the following rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1927, and ending on the 31st March, 1928, under: Sections 77-79, 88, and 94 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” Sections 48 and 50 of “The Rating Act, 1908,” and Section 10 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Act, 1923,” namely A General Rate of 3id in the £. A Separate Lighting Rate of 9-16 d in the £. A Separate Hospital Rate of 11-16 d in the £. And in order to provide'lnterest and Sinking Fund :— To collect a Special Rate of 1-16 d in the £on the £650 borrowed for financial adjustment purposes, such being part of the Special Rate of Id in the £ struck on the 17th day of May, 1917, on the annual value. To collect a Special Rate of 2<d in the £ on the £34,000 borrowed for Sewerage Works, such being part of the Special Rate of 41d in the £ Struck on the 20th day of September, 1921. To collect a Special Rate of -|d in the £ on the £11,250 borrowed for Street Improvements Works, such being part of the Special Rate of l|d in the £ struck on the 20th day of September, 1921. To collect a Special Rate of £-d in the £ on the £lOOO borrowed for Domain Improvements Works, such being part of a Special Rate of |d in the £ struck on the 18th day of October. 1923. All the above rates are on the unimproved value on the Valuation Roll of all rateable property in the Borough of Paeroa. ESTIMATE SHOWING THE GENERAL RATE REQUIRED FOR THE BOROUGH OF PAEROA FOR THE PERIOD IST APRIL, 1927, TO 31ST MARCH, 1928. - The following estimate having been approved by the Paeroa Borough Council is published for general information :— Proposed expenditure during the above period, £7675 19s 7d. Credit balance from previous year, £930 12s Id. Estimated receipts, rents, licenses, transfers from separate accounts., outstanding rates, etc., £3936. Balance, £2609 7s 6d, proposed to be met by a General Rate of 33x1 on £167,000, being the total unimproved Rating Value of the property on the Valuation Roll for the Borough of Paeroa.
