WEDDING AT PAEROA.
BIG ELO W—Ale C A SKI LL. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Paeroa, on Wednesday, May 11, when Miss Josephine McCaskill, youngest daughter of Mrs McCaskill, of. Paeroa, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Mr J. E, Bigelow, M.A., of the Blenheim High School. The Rev. J. Lowden officiated at the ceremony. The church had been prettily decorated with native greenery by friends of the bride, a floral bell of cyclamen chrysanthemums being suspended in an arch of ferns. The service was fully choral, Mr Rickard presiding at the organ.
The. bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr T. M. Ball, of Wellington, and wore a pretty frock of mushroom pink ■ French georgette trimmed with panels of, tiny tucks, side drapings, and cape edged with guipure lace, her embroidered veil being lined to match. She carried a beautiful sheaf. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Gladys Claxton, of Thames who wore a dress of fuchsia crepe fl’euri, trimmed with guipure lace and posies of flowers, and a tulle veil and bouquet to match. The other attendant was Miss Bigelow, wearing gold crepe de chine with tulle veil and bouquet to tone. Little Josephine Brocket as flower-girl was dressed in pale pink crepe de chine, with hat and posy. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Noel S. Gaze and Mr Newdick, both of Auckland.
After the ceremony the guests were entertained in the Centenary Hall by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of navy silk marocain, relieved with cerise. Mrs Bigelow (mother of the bridegroom) was dressed in mulberry rep. marocain, and Mrs Ball (sister df the bride) wore a costume, of bois de rose, embroidered in black and silver.
The happy couple left .for Te Aroha, en route to the Wanganui River,’where the- honeymoon will be spent. The bride travelled in a cyclamen kasha costume, with hat to tone.
