It is bad enough to be bitten by a dog on the street, but it seems hard lines for a young fellow to be bitten by a dog while he is engaged in a game of football (says the Dunedin “Star”). Yet such was the experience of a member of the Alhambra Club’s fifth grade team during a match at Port Chalmers. The matter was reported to the meeeting of the Otago Rugby Football Union by the secretary of the Alhambra Club, who said the player had been severely bitten. The coach of the team, the letter also said, had stated that half a dozen dogs were running about tlic field to the danger of the players. The meeting decided to write to the Port Chalmers Club requesting it to take action in the matter.
