PRESENTATION.

MISS E. 31. HART HONOURED.

SERVICES RECOGNISED.

After many years of faithful service, Miss E. M. Hart has rclinguished the position of organist at St. Paul’s Church, Paeroa. At the annual meeting of parishioners of the church, which was held last night, the occasion was taken to acknowledge, in a tangible form, the services which had been rendered so cheerfully.

In a happy speech Dr G. T. Smith (senior, lay-reader) called upon Miss Hart to accept a leather suit case, and a hand mirror, as a slight token of esteem and appreciation from the choir and parishioners. He hoped that the recipient would use th,e suit case in which to “pack up her troubles,” and the mirror in which to “smile, smile, smile.” In returning thanks on behalf of Miss Hart Mr B. Gwilliam said that her services as organist had always been a labour of love, and she was not deserving of such beautiful gifts. The reason why she had resigned was because she wished to give some of the younger people an opportunity to come forward and labour for the Church. Deep thanks were due to Mr R. W. Evans, choirmaster, and to the, choir members, for the gr.eat help and co-operation that had always, been given her. The gifts were much appreciated, and would always be highly treasured, together with many happy memories gained in working for the church.
