Thia week’s issue of the "N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic Review” is full of interesting photographs. Sporting ;and dancing beauties, feature in the centre pages, .and there' is a beautiful series of photographs depicting winter scenes in the Swiss Alps and tthe International Ski-ing Sports. The Franz Josef Land is also also the subject <of fine views. The Ponsonby 'Cruising Club's races provide an attractive display, and Rugby and League, practice games form an animated feature. A page of frocks and , coats from Paris, and the usual stage : and film sections also appear. They were swapping “mean man" yrctfjes in a smoker of the WellingtwsnAuckland express. The man in the corner took the bun. Said he knew a chap who never bought tobacco if he could "borrow” it. This party carried two pipes. One held a thimblefull the other about a quarter of an ounce. When he asked for a fill he showed you the little pipe. Rut directly he got hold of your pouch he pulled out the big pipe and crammed it with your "weed.” When fellows tumbled to him they cut him. He's particularly partial, it appears, to New Zealand tobacco. It’s certainly good, with a fragrance and aroma of its own. Most of the imported brands reek with nicotine. That’s why their constant use is bad. The N.Z. tobaccos are so pure and s.o comparatively free from nicotine that you can puff them all day without feat of conse- ' <iuences. You can’t beat them for flavour. Try Riverhead Gold, a fine aromatic; Toasted Navy Cut (Bulldog), medium ; or Cut Plug No. 10 : (Bullshead), full strength.*
