NETHERTON ROAD.

METALLING WORK COMPLETED. CONTRACT ENDED ON SATURDAY. Tire last shot in connection' with the quarrying of metal for the Netherton Riding roading loan was fired on Saturday morning at the Paeroa quarry, thus enabling the metalling of Pukahu Road, the last work under the roading loan, to be completed on Saturday also. This completes one of the most important roading contracts in the district, and considerable credit is due to Mr Basham for the prompt and efficient manner in which the. work has been carried put. The benefit of metalled roads will not only be enjoyed by the settlers, but the effect will be felt commercially in Paeroa, as in previous winters Pukahu Road and other Netherton roads have been almost impassable for wheeled traffic.
